The short version

We collect nothing. Zero. Your data stays on your device.

How it works

Be Gentle stores everything locally on your device, in the app's own storage and in a private container shared only with its widgets and Apple Watch companion. This includes:

• Your challenge progress and completion history
• Your witness practice entries and photos
• Your weekly letter reflections
• Your app preferences and settings

Permissions the app may ask for

• Camera — to take your daily witness photo. Photos are kept inside the app and are never uploaded.
• Photos (add only) — to save a copy of your witness photos to your camera roll. Be Gentle cannot read the rest of your library.
• Notifications — one optional morning reminder, scheduled on your device. No push servers are involved.

Every permission is optional, and you can change it at any time in iOS Settings.

Sharing is your choice

You can export your book as a PDF or share a witness card or weekly letter using the iOS share sheet. Nothing is sent unless you choose to share it, and where it goes is decided by the app you pick, not by Be Gentle.

No servers, no accounts

There is no account creation. There is no cloud sync. There are no servers storing your information. Be Gentle makes no network requests. Everything lives on your iPhone or Apple Watch, and nowhere else.

What happens if you delete the app

If you delete Be Gentle from your device, the data stored in the app is erased. We cannot recover it because we never had a copy. Photos you saved to your camera roll stay there until you delete them. If you use iCloud or computer backups of your device, Apple may include the app's data in them; that is controlled by your Apple settings, not by us.

No analytics, no tracking

We do not use analytics SDKs, advertising identifiers, tracking pixels, crash reporting services, or any third-party code that collects information about you or how you use the app.

Why we made this choice

An app about paying attention to kindness should not be paying attention to you. Your practice is private. Your reflections are yours. We built Be Gentle to be a quiet space, not another product harvesting data.

Children

Be Gentle collects no personal information from anyone, including children.

Changes

If this policy ever changes, the new version will be posted on this page with an updated date.
